Volvo Repair Database 1995 850T5R Identifying the different manual transmissions

Post by Someguy3331 »

I recently picked up a '95 T5R that had a manual transmission swapped in it in about 2002 I believe, the guys I got it off of started parting it out for some reason. Basically it has everything left in it for a manual swap but not much else. I know the car was originally and auto, I was hoping someone might be able to help me identify which transmission it was when I order a clutch for it for when I swap the trans into my other volvo. Any help is appreciated.

There should be an ID tag on it that identifies the model and the serial number.

Any kind of hint is to where that is? I looked around on it and couldn't find anything unless its behind the driver side wheel, and i have to pull the plastic down to get a good view of it.

I was thinking it was on the bell housing but my memory is fuzzy and I can't find any pictures that show it. On the bell housing or on one of the sides near the axles would be where I would start to look.
