1994 Volvo 850 Turbo Smoke out of dipstick after pcv change
I have concerns about the smoke coming from the oil dipstick on my 94' Volvo 850 turbo 230k miles. I performed a stage 0 with all genuine parts from fcpeuro.com. PCV changed and oil change to mobil 1 synthetic, cleaned oil ports, cleaned ptc. Compression holds at 150-151 on all 5 cylinders. No visible oil leaks besides the sweat on the oil cooler lines which I believe I solved when I substituted 1 quart of oil w/Lucas oil stop leak oil stabilizer. New thermostat, reservoir, silicone vacuum hoses, IPD TCV. I'm puzzled @ this moment. At the current moment i have the dipstick up a lil bit to vent the heat. HELP

There's an updated version of the PCV replacement that calls for a larger diameter hose from the PTC nipple to the passenger side of the intake manifold. Forum member cn90 came up with it a while ago.

Smoke from the dip stick really is no big deal. That may happen up to 1,000 miles after the PCV system is replaced.

94's had this odd little metal tube that runs up around the spark plug cover as part of the PCV system. It clogs up - remove it and run a piece of vacuum hose directly from that section in the turbo intake hose to the port on the intake manifold that twisty metal tube is connected to.
cn90's method of enlarging the breather tube worked wonders for me on a car that was still smoking badly from the dipstick even after a PCV job.
