1999 S80 T6 PCV system and coolant reservoir clarification

Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

Yes the injector seals/filters can be bought individually or as a kit (plus the o-ring for the fuel pipe to rail seal) - while you've got them out, you could clean the injectors...

I did a variation on this technique http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VFJlTfHyrUk - it worked well as I could see the difference in the injector spray pattern as I cleaned them.

Also, don't get rubber o-rings, get Viton ones which handle the heat/fuel better. eBay is your friend...

Cheers,

Chris

Plus I strongly recommend to open a one single thread to discuss whole job you are doing, so that discussions with other members will be lot easier.
I might do that, but what would be the thread title as the new problems are constantly discovered? :) I think most forums, including this one, prefer to have a separate thread for each specific problem. Right now I need to concentrate on the high pressure power steering hose before moving on, and the title of the thread will be misleading. Moderators?

Speaking of the high pressure power steering hose, the info I found suggests that it is not really a DIY job. I have a contact of a guy who is servicing Volvos on the side, I will probably give him a call to see if he can do it.

The error I am getting is P0121 which seem to point to the electronic throttle sensor. It is not happening as often to get me annoyed, but I suspect it will get worse as the time goes by.

You need to remove the piece of metal the holds the injectors in place along with the hose by unsrewing a couple of bolts and sliding it sideways.

There are a few small Torx bolts under there you have to remove,if I remember right you can't really see them without a mirror. When I did my injectors I bought the ebay kit because it came with 6 new injector filters which in mine were totally destroyed,no filter material left.Dealer didn't even sell the filters just overpriced o rings. They don't repair anything, just replace is all they know. Easy to do when they are out, just a little time and a chance to clean them out too. Made all the difference in my car.

The early cars didn't have the extra nipple. It was a mid 2001 change.

Thanks for confirming, VIDA seems to agree. Great, one thing less to worry about. :)
