Like the title says my 1991 Volvo 740's crankshaft pulley come unbolted while driving.
What puzzles me most is seconds after it come off the Volvo would not fire up.
It was not driven far after it come off, maybe a couple of blocks.
What might be the cause of the not starting? Battery seems fine, not driven without the belt long enough to discharge.
Called tow truck now it sits at mechanics shop.
Also to reinstall the pulley what approximately might the cost be?
Thank you for any help...much appreciated.

What does the engine do when you try to start it?
Did the crank gear walk itself off the crankshaft somehow when you shut the car down?

Minutes after starting and driving less than 1 mile all idiot lights come on & lost power steering. Kept driving in a fight to return home. The final stall come the second I put on turn signal. Opened hood and laying in pan was belts pulley bolt and thick washer. When turning key it was a no start with no signs of firing. Sounded different than the usual start. Hard to explain, kinda like a near dead battery but still turning over hard enough which under normal circumstances would likely start it.
