2002 C70 Computer Update needed??

A few years back my wife had a Volvo XC. The transmission was acting up and her Volvo mechanic , not a Volvo dealer, told her she should take it to the Volvo dealership in Albany and have them do a computer update. She had it done and her transmission was fine after that. My 2002 C70 transmission acts up occasionally like it is slipping out of gear. Is a computer update something that should be done on a regular basis? I've never heard of this on any of my other cars (all American brands).

Only for the Microsoft Synch cars....lol.

If he is closer, take it to Randall Volvo over in RENSSELAER ...I think he can do the upgrade..call him first.
