1999 S80 Trunk Issue

Sorry folks but here is another trunk issue thread. I couldn't find any other thread who was having the same problem as me.

To start, my Lock Trunk/Valet Lock button is DISENGAGED. I repeat, my lock trunk button has already and has always been DISENGAGED. My trunk opened fine with the fob and with the soft black trunk button but a couple of days ago it stopped unlocking. Every time I pressed the key fob or the trunk button, I can hear the lock mechanism making noise but doesn't unlatch the trunk. Any thoughts?

EDIT: Actually, the trunk will unlock and open with the key-fob but the trunk button, when pressed, will only make a noise and not open.

Open it with a key and spray some lubricant in there.
