There could be a short in a wire/corroded connector or module under the dash - such as from water/coolant leak. The blower should not have voltage without keys in ignition.

Measure battery voltage at the control unit (4/31) plug. Verify ground continuity from the plug to the chassis. The control unit regulates motor speed (6/28) based on the signal received by the CCM (3/112).

If you find nothing have the car scanned for codes ideally with Vida-Dice. You may have a condition that interfere with the CCM operation.

Hello everybody,

My S60 has similar failure. Following check by Vida I was told the fan control module (ref. component 4/31 in the diagram) is damage. Can you tell me whether it is embedded in the motor or nearby it? Thank you
Mario

If you use the AC late P80s (P2s?) will run the blower after the car is shutoff to dry the evap core.

I believe my newly acquired P2 has this in the owners manual, too.
