2001 S60 wastegate and cat engine codes

I am new to this site and would love to get some answers on my 2001 S60, which has the I5 Turbo, thus the wastegate issue.The service engine light came on and after getting the codes(p0245 and p0422) checked out I got an $8000 estimate. I decided that I need to do a little investigation on my own to see what is really wrong with my car. They said I needed a new ecm, wastegate and catalytic converter. Has anyone ever had this issue or have a knowledge on a fix for these issues? Any help will be much appreciated.
