i don't think i've ever posted a photo of my '99 T5 that wasn't of its nasty guts. so after a much-needed wash today and a much-more-needed radiator yesterday, here it is!
there's a lip spoiler from a subaru up front, eibach springs, and little black vinyl appliques on the B- and C-pillars, all of which were installed by the two previous owners. the PO had some more stuff going on but I prefer a close-to-stock look. it also had window tints that i peeled off because i thought they were too dark, but someday maybe i'll get something a little smoky on the glass.
i'd also like to give it some wheel spacers, especially in the rear, but the car's various little issues should be sorted before i worry too much about looking good. otherwise, this is the look i want to keep.

i think this is one of the best colors for the V70.abscate wrote:Here is my dark blue T5 ....with my other passion in the background...
the differences between the S/V70 and the 850 are subtle but the colors i like on them are completely different. riddle me that.

That looks great. The pillar treatment is something I was thinking of.j-dawg wrote:i don't think i've ever posted a photo of my '99 T5 that wasn't of its nasty guts. so after a much-needed wash today and a much-more-needed radiator yesterday, here it is!

How did you get those wheels to look so good?
Being a '99 it also looks good that the moldings are the same color as the body.
Very nice.
I have one just like that. Only different.
Having fun.

thanks! your 850 would look good with the pillar appliques, especially with the dark door moldings and door handles. it looks really good. i think the 850 front end looks better than the later styling, and i think the V70 taillights look better than those off the 850, so you've got the best of both worlds.
my wheels are just plain stock perfos. freshly washed in direct sunlight in an overexposed photo they look good - maybe something about the paint - but in actual meatspace they are kinda ratty. they have some curb rash, and some of the paint chipped off when i peeled off the dark gray plastidip the PO had applied.
the whole car is a good fifteen-footer, but up close and personal it's no show car.
