Wow! I wish I could find a good mechanic in my area for $76.00. All the guys around here are $115+ per hour which is why at my age I still continue to DIY.

Yes, I know it's quite low in today's world, but his small out-of-the-way shop has always done good work for us and is the only place in our small town that wants to work on Volvos. I'm 67 and doing a complete brake job now because I want to inspect the emergency brakes and rear lines, but I'm feeling it in my joints tonight.SpeedyPete wrote:Wow! Sorry, Matty Moo for misunderstanding--just attribute it to my age also.

Yes. I always remove the seat while doing spring seats.skjmank wrote:You had to remove the seat??
Actually I had swapped the passengers seat out of the wagon for a very nice scrap seat. I used that one do spring compression comfortably on a 100 degree day in the shade.
Need a seat with only one torn cushion?

Not sure if the OP ever pulled the trigger on the ReadyMounts? Mine are still fine after 15K in 2 years. I also purchased the rear shocks. Check the ride height on the rear as my car howls now if pushed slightly hard through large on ramp sweepers because the rear sits low giving some under-steer. It handles very smooth and controllable but would be great with the IPD overload springs. The rear looks like it has been lowered.
Mine looks lower than the car in IPD's site in the before picture

Ok, I went with the Gabriel struts. It was a tough decision. I'll respond to this post again after I put some miles on the car. I have a longer commute - 400 miles per week so that's about 20k per year. It will be a good test for these struts. California roads with some rural driving.
Thanks all for your input - there are some great ideas on this post.
