1999 V40 no sound from radio

Hi all,

My radio/CD player (factory fitted) has been fine for years but a few weeks ago, although it turns on there is no sound coming from the speakers, not even a static hiss, just silence. I've checked the connections in the back and changed fuse 9 but no joy. Any suggestions?
