Is there an "easy" or right way to get the front brake caliper anti-rattle springs installed onto the caliper as the final part of a brake job? I've tried to muscle it into place but it keeps flying out of the first hole when I try to put the other end of the spring in the second. Thank you for the help!

It is one of those things that you need to hold your mouth just right to get it to work. I hook one end and get the hooked end up over the caliper and then use a big pair of channel lock pliers, grabbing the spring between the more or less vertical part that slides onto the caliper behind the pad and the hook end, to get the other side barely on the caliper at the top while I push the end in the hole. From there I just tap things all the way into place.

Like he said, put one side in. I grab the other with pliers, vise-grips, channel-locks, whatever is available to get the other pin to the hole.
After that, simply tap both sides tightly in as far as they will go. There is a slight ridge where I place the tip of a flathead screwdriver. It is evident in the corner bend of the spring. I can usually push it by hand, or tap it with a mallet.

Put lower one in hole, rest upper one on caliper and hold with thumb
Bend it into hole with needle nose pliers. Tap both end firmly into hole.
Glove colour must match your car.
