I just bought a 2001 S60 that is missing the cup holder lid. I can't live with this. I am wondering if I could purchase the cup holder assembly and take the lid off of that and install it on the cup holder in my car.
The cost of the labor is the problem and I'm not a do-it-yourself person.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Sure it installs by bending it so it can fit onto the tabs of the assembly.
However before doing this make certain that there are no broken stops or posts on your existing lid holder that will cause the new lid to break.
That glovebox design is a real joke and is very delicate.
