most auto parts store can get you an alternater. FCPgroton can get used a Bosch overhauled unit. when my alternater went on my 2000 S80 I replaced the regulater with the alternater still on the car. the regulater was about $65. Did you check the voltage while car was running at the alternater? dirty cables can impede the voltage.
