1999 V40 1.6 Fuel pipe size?

Hi,

I am needing to replace 3 sections of the steel fuel pipe on my 1999 V40.

Does anyone happen to know the measurements that I need to identify the right pipe to use?

I need to replace about a metre of the end near the fuel pump of all 3 of the steel pipes that go between the nylon(?) pipes marked D on the attached diagram and the main straight parts/rails that run along the length of the car.

I am looking at using copper pipe at the moment with the measurements below and hoping I am going to be able to do the job with a basic flaring tool:

OUTSIDE DIAMETER 8MM
@ WALL THICKNESS 0.71MM
@ SAFE WORKING PRESSURE 1044 PSI 72 BAR

For anyone else looking for this...

I found out that the steel pipe is 8mm external diameter.

I decided to repair with flexible fuel hose and jubilee clips.

The original pipes up near the fuel filter were very rotten.

I left about 6cm of the original pipe wherever there was a connection on a rotten pipe and hacksawed off the rest and jubileed my flexible hose onto the short bit of pipe with connector. I replaced pipe to about half-way along the rails, it cost about £14 from my expensive local store and I have enough bits to do the job twice over.

The job took about an hour.

There was very little fuel came out of the pipes, but the filter holds a good mugful so watch out!
