Hello, I have a 99 S70 AWD with the read shaft removed. I had the timing belt replaced by a shop, and after that I started getting the flashing arrow followed by a CEL, followed by limp mode.
It was throwing two codes, a communication error and a speed sensor code. When I would reset it, the codes and limp mode would go away, and would return a day or three later.
I replaced the speed sensor on the top of the transmission, which did nothing.
After a month or more of this, it has started having another more serious problem. It will lose forward motion (usually without throwing any code or arrow light). It happens when I come to a stop, it then will not move forward and the engine will rev nearly as if it is in neutral, and twice it has happened at speed on the freeway.
When I shut the car off and re start it, it will drive OK for a quarter mile and then happen again when I come to a stop. This will happen several times, and then it will be fine.
Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

Have you checked the fluid level and the fluid color/smell? What were the specific code numbers?

Fluid level was good. Look and smell of fluid isn't like new, but not terrible.
I don't have the car here to look at the codes, but when I looked them up one was a communication error from transmission control unit to ECU and the other was a speed sensor failure.

The code numbers are kinda important since there are several different codes that get generically reported but the actual fault can be different. Post back the numbers and we can go from there.
