'93 850 Dash Lights Flickering

Continuing to fix up my Sudanese friend's '93 850...

As I'm driving it, every once in a great while, the dash lights will flicker - and by that, I mean the lights that all come on when the key is on but the engine is not running.

At first the low fuel light will flicker several times, then all of them will flicker on & stay on for several seconds, the go off.

This does not seem to have any bearing on the engine running. The car continues to drive fine while this is happening.

Is this a common issue with these cars? Is it an easy fix?

It could be an electrical part of the ignition switch but usually these fail dark. It's about a 50 USd repair
