Hey guys,
Today I noticed that although my alarm is visually armed (light on dash), it does not sound when the door or hood is opened. I sat in the car and locked and armed it and then popped the hood and also tried opening the door from the inside but the alarm did not sound. This used set it off, but does not any longer. Curiously the panic button will still set it off. I wonder if this is related to a massive dip I hit that shook the hell out of the car. Also for extra credit will my immobilizer work if the alarm is not working? Thanks in advance for the help.

The best way to test the alarm is to roll the window down, lock the doors and set the alarm. Wait 5 minutes then reach in the car and open the door. Then you can also test the ignition with the key.

Hey RSPI,
Yep, that did the trick. I guess it just needs time to arm. This panic induced post was brought to you by the ungodly intersection that shattered the plastic around my dash LED and left it flopping around-thus my alarm test.
