2000 S40 A/C or HVAC stopped working
2000 S40 A/C or HVAC stopped working
I used A/C Pro to try to make my air conditioner blow colder. I read the instruction and found the low pressure port and began to recharge my A/C. It did not seem to make any improvement to the temperature so I went through the process again. I checked the pressure, turned the dial to the outside temperature and began adding freon. That night on the way to work the RPMs began to jump up every few seconds even when driving. I parked the car and let it run with the air conditioner on for awhile but nothing changed. I noticed that the A/C was no longer dripping and the car's RPM still going up and down every few seconds. What have I done? What can I do now? Oh car runs fine as long as my air conditioner is OFF. As always thank you for your time and lack of judgement.

Was the pressure low the second time you refilled? Did you check the view port for bubbles?
If the pressure is low I have had cars act this way, the compressor was cycling on and off repeatedly.
