I'm having trouble deciphering the question since the title indicates an ETS (ETM) problem while the body of the text is talking about the brake booster.

You can download the schematics from this site:

http://www.volvowiringdiagrams.com/?dir=

The schematics are partially incomplete and the pagination is messed up but if you search long enough in the pdf file you can usually find what you are after.

A faulty or broken brake pedal position sensor fitted to the brake booster will light ETS light however the symptom is that the car will not respond to accelerator input while the brake is pressed with no other running symptoms.

A faulty ETM will usually not cause a no start, especially on a non turbo car.
