2007 XC90 3.2 Trouble code P0110 and P0100

Post by frankp71147 »

OK, now my XC90 3.2 hit 150000 miles, so it is time to change spark plugs according to Volvo. Changing the plugs was no problem, everything went well. At the same time I decided to change the air filter because I bought the car with 124000 miles on it and I had no idea how old the air filter was. To make it a little easier, unplugged the MAF sensor. Put it back together and started up. Ran fine for about fifteen seconds then it threw up Code P0110 Intake Air Temperature Circuit Malfunction and Code P0110 Intake Air Temperature Circuit Malfunction.
Immediately remembered that I didnt plug the MAF sensor back in. Did that and tried the start car. Would start and then immediately stall. Unplug the MAF and it would start up. Plug the MAF back in while it was running and it run fine. Shut off and tried to restart with the MAF plugged in and it would stall again.
When I tried to clear the codes with it running, it would immediately stall and would not stay running until I unplugged the MAF.
Replaced the MAF with the same results.
Anyone have any ideas?
I have been a heavy truck tech for 40 years and I have never run into anything like this. So any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Update. It turns out that when I replaced the air filter, the air tube came loose from the throttle body. The way that it is mounted, it was very difficult to see this. Re-attached the air tube and now it is running great. Changing the spark plugs certainly did help a lot, runs much better.
