... and I'm on my way to Minneapolis with my four-year-old son.

Luckily, flying not driving :-D.

I did drive to Denver International with the blown hose, at very gentle throttle application. I'm typing this from DIA.

Surprisingly, my 850 managed 18mpg. Throttle was a laggard, as you would expect. I've had experience driving with slipped/blown post-MAF-intake hoses and recognized the situation as such, and that I could drive this morning to the airport without fanfare. I just wouldn't recommend it as a daily habit.

These P80 Volvos are durable.

The bad news: I don't know where the blowout is. It's not the usual suspect -- on my 850 T5 anyway -- the large intake hose at the manifold. Nothing topside. Next week I'll be home, and I'll get her up on jackstands at my dad's house and see what blew.

(And yes, this is a Stage 0 thing I should have replaced. I am embarrassed. The great thing about mods is they show you exactly which other parts are old.)

Mine popped off at the lower intercooler connection. Feeling around wasn't very clear, but a good strong yank it was obvious. Had to remove splash thing to see/fix it.

Top intercooler connection for me. The small plate behind the radiator had to come off to see.

I have a feeling the hose burst. The sound was loud enough to think my 850 backfired for the first time in her 18 years of life.

I might have a replacement hose ready to go.

Wasn't a hose. It's the lower intercooler housing . Pic to follow later.

Colour matching duct tape and 5 pounds of epoxy

Thought...if you lose a hose on a turbo car, would it make sense to unplug the MAF and let the car run on the default mass flow table rather than metering air that isn't making it to the cylinders ??
