1998 v70xc O2 sensor p/n

Post by deltajets »

This could be filed under stupid question but here goes.I bought an O2 sensor on line. The bosch web page says for my car it needs (sensor 15063 to chassis nmb 342001) or (15062 from chassis nmb 342000).I have chassis number 443440.I ordered sensor 15062.I found sensor 15063 installed in my car.Thats not to say someone in the past didn't put in the wrong one.I'm only replacing it because I have the catalytic converter out and they are so hard to get to. I think I have the right one?

The FCP pages say 15062 is only for base model V70, and that the XC (in fact all turbo models) takes 15063. Similarly, they sell one OEM Volvo rear sensor for just the base V70, then the other OEM Volvo one is for all of the turbo cars and for post-chassis 342000.

I'm only reading the parts pages but it's looking to me like 15063 is the right one. The difference is probably only in the harness. Can you compare it to the one coming out, see if the wires are long enough? That may settle it for you.

I just got the old harness out for the aft o2 sensor and you are correct. The harness for 15062 is much longer than 15063.I need 15063,thank you for the speedy and accurate response.
