remote for 2001 S60

After reading posts here, if you didn't get any remotes with your car, you are apparently SOOL. So what is the solution? Can I disable the Volvo remote circuitry and substitute a cheap 40 dollar PEP boy unit?


BTW, this is my first post in this forum. I have a few Volvos including a 2001 S60 that I bought at a salvage auction with a dead engine and resurrected by swapping out the entire engine/transmission subframe with one from another S60. I also have a couple 2001 V70s that have yet to be revived.
