1998 V70 Window removal?

Post by Jicafold »

Any tips on how to remove a front passenger side window out of a 1998 V70? I need to replace mine and I'm going to the salvage yard tomorrow.

You need to get the window rolled down to about halfway, a little less, and then you can get to the clips that hold the window onto the regulator. The clips are typically behind an adhesive backed foam cover. Remove the clips, remove the regulator panel, remove the lower track by removing the screw near the bottom of the door jamb - below the door light, and then the window will pull out. The seal will need to come out first but that just pulls off.

The pick-n-pull car won't have a battery in it but you can use a torx bit and a battery drill to lower or raise the window. There is a sticker that covers the bit socket on the window motor. I can't recall off the top of my head what size bit it takes.

Do you remember what size bit it takes in the window motor to move it? Thanks for posting the success and closing the loop so to speak.
