2001 V70 2.4T What would it take do do a T5 Upgrade?
I know that the T5 uses a high pressure turbo vs the low pressure turbo in my 2.4T, would swapping out the turbo be sufficient to upgrade the car or would there be ecu changes needed as well? And would I need to invest in an intercooler?

I believe this has been tossed aroud a few times, but... It will take an ecu remap, probably injectors, intercooler. Not sure about compression reduction..

So in other words, if I want more performance I should just chip the ecu....

You're currently running 9:1 compression. HPTs run 8.5:1
Introducing extra boost should be done with great care as you can easily overboost an LPT engine with a T5 setup of turbo and ECU. Crank rods are usually the first casualties.
Personally I would stick with a LPT tune and a modified exhaust. Take a look at some of the packages that IPD Volvo provide. 30-35 hp is easily obtained and the car will be very driveable.

Without trashing MVS, is there more on this topic over on SwedeSpeed or the others?
