Re: Boost Gauge Install
Heck, I might get a cluster frame from the salvage yard and drop it in there between the current turbo gauge and the left turn signal. Wait, I have a cluster already torn apart. Maybe I'll try there. I was going to install in in the speaker mesh on the dash near the A pillar.

Great pics guys. Ok, so I found the pass through (pretty neat) and figured a way to fish the hose up to the A-pillar. I will be going with a Pod mount, I think it looks the cleanest.
My question is for those with a 1998 S70; where did you tap in the boost line. On the 850s I assume you guys put a tee on the existing line for the boost guage, but the S70s didn't come with a boost gauge.
I was thinking of the tree for the IACV, but the line is smaller. I've read that you should put a hole in the rubber caps and feed the line through. I don't see how that will seal properly, it doesn't seem right. Maybe some kind of adapter to feed the line directly into the tee?

Also, has anybody compared the IPD pod to the one you can get at Gauge Pods? Are they the same?

Here's mine. The pod was for a Honda IIRC. It required some sanding for fit. It's held with a 2-part epoxy to the A pillar plastic. B+ for the light is tapped of the light switch and it only comes on when the lights are on, and is controlled by the dimmer.
I got it from Summit Racing, and chose it because it visually "matched" the Volvo dash lettering and colors

The instructions that came with my gauge said to tap into the vac line from the boost controller into the air intake tube (from the MAF to turbo). So, that would be the blue line from the TCV.mecheng wrote:My question is for those with a 1998 S70; where did you tap in the boost line.

Does the pink and black wire come free of the connector. I can open it on the side as well but I'd likemicah861 wrote:Turns out it was the pink wire. My connector can come apart and fold on the side (see picture) which makes it alot easier to connect the new wires to the original without cutting them.
Then put the gauge cluster up, and ta-dum!
It to come free so I can solder it to the upper female plug

Guys, put the gauges where you can see them while you're driving. I'm not criticizing anyone's placement. I don't know your height or seating position. Just saying.
