2004 Volvo V70 2.5t heater/ac blower fan will not shut off

Post by bigbear440 »

Hi, I am new to this site and I am having a problem with my heater blower motor not functioning properly. I have to pull the 30amp fuse to shut off the blower motor fan after turning the ignition switch off so it doesn't kill the battery. Is this a resistor problem? If so, where would I locate the resistor and how would I go about changing it. Also I read on another site about having the ignition switch in the 'o' position and then remove negative wire from battery then disconnecting any plugs from the climate control panel, then reconnecting plugs back to climate control then switch ignition to 'II' then reconnect the negative cable back to the battery. If this is all true please try to give a detailed change out off the resistor if indeed that is my problem. I am open to any suggestions. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!! Marty

If you do a search on this forum you will find many threads covering the subject. The replacement of what is commonly called the resistor module is well explained in the following thread.

The control module is solid state now.
