At this age it may safe to assume corrosion in connectors to TCM may cause problems and give false errors. Pulling the TCM and giving the connectors a good clean with electrical contact cleaner may solve this one for you and is also good preventative maintenance.

Haven't thought about the actual TCM connectors. Will hit the connections on the rail first and then try the TCM if that doesn't work.
Also the shifter is getting a little sloppy so will see if I can adjust it at the trans and get the play out of the shifter while I'm under there. If not may replace the cable.
This all would be a LOT easier if I could access these freekin trans codes on this car with a normal OBD II scan tool. It's a major ordeal shooting in the dark or having to drive across town to find a scanner that will work on the freekin thing!!! May have to do just that and drive out to the Volvo specialty shop that helped me track down the wiring issue i had last time and see if I can hook up their scanner again as the codes we pulled did not pull the Volvo DTC code # so are they accurate??
A kickdown switch fault should ether not kick down at all or not come out at light throttle and a slipping converter clutch would not kill the cruse after the code was cleared until it reset so??? That code 341 in the diagnostic trouble code definition read "lock-up function slips or disengages" and according to the Volvo trouble code chart it would not set a warning light so??
i expected to see something like a Trans RPM sensor or some kind of other speed sensor fault not the 2 faults it pulled.
