2002 S60 Noise and vibration in front end

Wheel bearings, axles, rotors, pads, are all good. Nothing rubbing in areas of brakes or tires. Loud noise and sharp vibration happens only above 30 mph. Slight left steering or acceleration does decrease the noise.

Any recent work done on front end?

with steering wheel to full lock position, how does look the front bushing on the control arm?

noise can sometimes be caused by tires, especially when underinflated.

vibration can be caused when wheel lugs are not evenly torqued. this is most usually caused by corrosion of wheel alloy at the lug seat (tightening the lugs doesn't feel smooth)

Yes. Replaced wheel bearings about a year ago. No change. Replaced both axles (one cracked boot) same noise. Rotated tires, checked brakes, etc yesterday, noise is still the same. Could this be a simple alignment or bushing problem?

Tires are less than a year old and are always properly inflated.

I Got a 4-wheel alignment today. Bushings and everything else looked great the mechanic said. The only thing he could guess is a possible internal transmission problem. (it is a 5 speed automatic). hmmm.

The front suspension rubber strut mounts fail frequently. Will be more of a "clonck" when riding on rough road. My mech put on XC90 units on my V70 as they should be holding up better.

Thanks. The noise I have is a roaring sound with sharp vibration felt through the front floorboard that increases with speed. As if the bearings were bad, but i replaced them less than a year ago. As mentioned, sound does lessen with slight left turn and/or accelerating. (when front of car has a slight lift).

Unfortunately it sounds like a bad bearing. I'd lift the front and rotate each wheel.
