Hi,
I want to change my Brake Fluid since its never changed.
Volv0 s80 1999 2.9 Non Turbo. 183000 KM
Though I do not feel any problem while braking or any other issue but I do wonder it might at least requires a change after so many years.
Please share any link or instructions how to change it as well which brand or type is recommended. Will surly appreciate.
Thanks

The Volvo interval is every two years.
Bleed the brakes till the fluid coming out is clean. Nothing special there.
The only catch is you need a scan tool to activate the abs valves to get all of the old fluid out.
Any DOT 4 fluid is fine. You only need the fancy stuff if you're incredibly hard on the brakes such as mountainous driving or competition use.

Can you still buy brake fluid of different colors, say yellow & blue but both are dot4 to help you know when you flushed out all the newish fluid the second time around, before it is actually all discolored?

It's possible, but there is risk of contamination of the new fluid. It's better to get it all done in one shot.sherry007 wrote:Thanks, can I change fluid one by one, like if I change from front right today....and after few days i will change the Front left one...????
