1999 V70xc What the Heck is Happening with this Car

Post by flyingd »

I am getting different lights lighting up my dash. First the dreaded blinking arrow, then the Check Engine along with the blinking arrow, then the ETS joined them. Then the blinking arrow went off, then the ETS went off and left the Check Engine light the only light on. I am going to get the codes read today, but can anyone tell me what the Heck is Going on With this Car!!!!!!

1618 is a communication error code
You may have a short or a wire that's frayed, have fun, it's a nasty code
It also can just be an ABS code needing a new/rebuilt module.
($70 from Matt, you should ask him what to look for first

Might not have anything to do with the code but the dash light problem is similar to a voltage regulator problem so I was just throwing it out there...........? Perhaps you could elaborate on what the problem actually is?

That would mean the tranny is probably shot but change the fluid on that one.
The 4 speeds are tough and it may go away after a fluid change

I can't, you have to start fault tracing wires. As I said check with Matt on this one first
