this sounds kind of goofy, but if it is coming from the spring itself applying a thin coat of bearing grease to the upper and lower seats while you have the spring out will usually quiet it.

well it's not the spring, I took the spring off and the strut off, and while the car was jacked up I grabbed the wheel and moved it up and down, and sure enough the noise was still there. Since the noise was present with the spring and strut off I guess It must the end link.

Is there anything else that could cause this noise, I was really sure that the noise was from the spring, at least it really sounded like it was.

I have added some pictures I took, I really can't see any overly worn parts that can cause this. Is there any area I should spray PB Blaster or WD to try and get rid of the noise.

Those end links don't look so good but with the car jacked up it is hard to tell. Stick the jack under the big bolt that goes through the end link and jack the car up while you watch the trailing arm.

If all is well the delta link trailing arm will rise with the rest of the car. If they are bad the car will move up but the delta link will not move for the first half an inch or so. When they are totally shot the rubber disintegrates but the rubber can break away from the center pin, sort of like a bad front spring seat does, and allow for vertical movement.

The angle on the delta link doesn't look right to me, but Lee's test is the definite one..unwanted slack in the delta link upon jacking up. Once you commit to this job, it makes sense to do shock, spring, and trailing arm bushing if you have long term plans for the car.
