98 v70 T5 Rear seat fold down issue

The left side works fine, the right one, you can slide the unlock back and the red pops up but it does not actually release the latch...you can feel that there is still some mechanical connection at the locking switch, and trying to either force it or pop the latch with a screw driver does not work.

I have dealt with "wont fold back up seat belt" issue for many clients, but never had the honor of dealing with one that wont unlatch

Let me know if you ever figure this out. I've asked a few times, never got much. Same symptoms. I was able to unlatch w/ a long screwdriver but can't figure out how the thing works to fix it.

My latch itself was broken. I replaced the latch but shortly thereafter the end cap that the lever pivots on broke and I had to replace it as well. The push-pin rivets that hold the end cap on really aren't reusable since you pretty much destroy them getting them out so I would have them on hand.
