I want to sell my wife's 98 S70 w/134K miles. The engine and transmission are perfect, no Cel, all "READY" shifts smooth and has been drain-n-filled 4 times in the past year.
That being said, I want to sell it as a parts car due to extensive other issues, broken exhaust manifold, failing steering (think it is the rack), bad very rattling suspension, failed driver's seat (bad cushion but electrically it's OK), uglyish scratched up finish but not rusted, failed passenger door lock.
I runs fine, has a current state inspection sticker and is still in daily use.
For the right person, it is very fixable, I'm just not the right person right now.
What's a good bargain price on a car like this? $1200 come down to 800 or so?
It's not that bad a car, I just have exceeded my project threshold, winter is coming and need to put her into a good everyday driver be it Volvo or rice burner, something I can mark off as not needing any work other than maintenance.

Car needs more than it's worth
This is a $500 car... MAX

It's a sedan not a wagon
It's a non turbo
(and as said, it needs more than it's worth)
Mod note. Jim passed away in early 2022, his contributions to this forum are immortal, and he is missed. RIP

JRL, you nailed it! That's what I told my wife, a good $500.00 car. I'm picking up my wagon tomorrow from my indy and I'll ask him if he's interested in it for chicken change or credit for some future labor. I really should fix it but it's just not worth it to me. My indy on the other hand will be able to use the engine and tranny. Or donate the thing. This car was simply the result of me being stupid again, I never should have bought from this particular dealer as I knew better but she wanted it :-(
