I ordered a timing belt replacement kit, and it included the automatic tensioner, but mine is fitted from factory with the piston type tensioner. Are these interchangeable if I remove the piston? Or do I have to re-order the piston and pulley assembly for my specific car. It's been really hard to figure out what parts go on my car, as it seems after a certain vin number Volvo changed some things, and all the parts stores don't interchange properly.
also, is it recommended to replace the piston tensioner or just he pulley system is pushes against?
Car has 140k last replaced at 70k
Thanks.

You have the wrong kit. If your car has the hydraulic tensioner then that is what you should replace it with.
The hydraulic tensioner and the tensioner roller should both be changed.
