Hi All,
New to this site and new to Volvo. Just picked up a daily run around for $700. full service history and all that which makes me happy. 136k miles.
Needs a few things -
*AC is not running but i did find a receipt for a recharge a few years ago. might have a small leak somewhere. Maybe a recharge will do just fine, if the compressor kicks on to allow me.
*Sunroof Motor missing - ordered on ebay
*Suspension needs replaced
*New Tires
*No radio as antenna is gone, might just get a aftermarket setup for cheap with new speakers.
For now i am planning the following as this car has been sitting for a while before i got it:
Seafoam in the gas tank, intake and crank case.
Followed by a oil change, spark change, fuel filter change.
Change air filter, wipers and clean throttle body and MAF sensor.
Brake fluid flush followed by brake job.
Suspension work. front and rear.
And a tranny flush n fill with a new filter.
Interior is a bit cracked and i will be looking into fixing the seat motors. awfully tempted to get seats reupholstered but as this is a just a run around a seat cover might be just fine!
Hopefully this car can do the job it needs to, just 20 or so miles a day and picking up a baby from pre-school!
So hopefully the posts here will help me on my adventure.

I have 2 960 and love the cars. A 1995 which I've owned since new and a 1997 that I've had for about a year. I found some common problems and have some thoughts on your plan.
1. The seat pulling to one side rather than moving is a common problem. Not the motor but a cable comes off the motor. You need to trim the insulation of the cable and put it back in. Google it and you should find instructions.
2. I would not flush the transmission. I would drain and refill. Plenty of advice around that says flushing older cars is a risky thing.
3. Suspension work on the volvo for me was easy.
4. Use MAF sensor cleaner because others leave a residue that can cause problems.
5. I would check all vacumn connectors because they tend to corrode and have hidden leaks.
6. Check the schrader valve in your ac for leaks. That is where my AC was leaking freon. The valve is near the firewall on the passenger side.
Let us know your progress.

Beware the skinny 21mm timing belt on this year which gives a 50k mile belt interval. There should be a dampener fitted behind the exhaust cam sprocket which reduces stress on the belt.
You can fit a 1994 23mm setup (WP, idler, hydraulic tensioner, timing belt tensioner and 23mm belt by drilling out a 1994 timing belt tensioner (on a drill press) to accept the larger bolt size used on this model (M10) Then drill a small hole in the timing cover for the replacement bolt head to protrude.
I did this on my 93 960 before I sold it.
The evaporator for the a/c is an easy pull behind the glovebox with a removable plastic panel that you slide the evaporator out of. Mine had a hole.

Thanks for the tips.
I had to take the ac to the shop since it was completely empty the compressor wouldn't kick on. they put 2 lbs of freon in and a tracer so i will take it back to them this week and see if we cant pinpoint the leak. then hopefully it easy fix or small leak that i can live with.
i cleaned a super dirty throttle body this weekend and the IAC valve too. replaced the throttle gasket, installed new air filter. added some Auto-rx to a fresh oil change to clean the engine.
Went to gas station last night.....put the seafoam in and started pumping to put 8 gallons of premium in, not sure at what point it happened but looked down and a nice puddle of gas leaking from under the car!!! immediately googled it and seems like it is a common Volvo issue. doesn't look too difficult to fix, just gotta get the right hoses i guess!
might need to look at the pcv system replacement, no issues but precautionary. also from a video i saw i might need to pick up some new wires for the sparks.
Still gotta fix the seats, and replace the front brakes and suspension parts. picked up a sunroof motor on ebay so will have to see if i can get that fixed.
only decision i have to make now is to replace the nivomats in the rear or install a conversion kit to regular shocks.....decisions decisions....
