2001 V70 XC Third Brake Light Won't Turn Off

Post by clyburnkl »

Hey,

My third break light will not turn off. I have tried lifting up on my brake pedal to see if it was slightly depressed and no luck. The only way to get it to turn off was to take out the fuse that controls it, among other things. Anyone have any ideas???

If tailgate wiring is good, which can be visually checked by pulling the rubber boots.. I'd then check the wiring diagram to see if the light driver is actually on the same pcb as the lights.

Perhaps it has to do with the wire harness getting crushed somewhere around the rear hatch seal. have a look at the wiring going to the bulb

Search the P80 forum for rear wiper wiring to see nice pictures of the likely problem, I think we added this to the VRD too.
