2000 V70XC AWD no reverse

Hi,

Since yesterday, my 2000 V70XC AWD lost power when shift in Reverse. When pressed on gas pedal, the engine revs but no power. The car has 202,000 miles on it. Up to now, it seems to be fine on Drive. There is no code or flashing arrow. Searched the forum but didn't see much information, except saying this could be a early sign of complete transmission failure.

Time for rebuild/replacement? Other options?

Edit: Glad to notice that my parking lot is on a slight slope, so my car can be backed out of parking space slowly due to gravity. Tried to roll shift from P to 1 to P ten times, without noticeable difference.

Have you ever had the fluid replaced?

Fluid was replaced 30,000 miles ago, now it still looks red and OK. Will try to replace fluid over the weekend. Thanks.

Unless the fluid is VERY low, tranny is on the way out

The fluid level is OK. How far can this tranny go before completely die? It'll take some time for me to get another car, will this car give me the time?

I bought a 99 with almost no reverse (knowingly)
It got me home (50 miles) then died within two weeks
Trust me, it's shot.
How long, who knows until it totally gives out but it will be sooner over later
