I'm pretty new so hi to those reading!

I have given this my best shot, I'm not an expert tech just learning thought I'd give you guys a chance to help. I dont think it's fuel pump. vacuum leak dont know how to check, sprayed water around engine hoping to hear a rev change. cylinder 4 coil unplugged seemed same when engine was missing consistently.

so. S60 starts and runs but will rev pretty high like the choke is on but just keeps going and going like that, and every now and then will sputter at low revs and then resume high rev.
When the car is off I hear a faint but distinct beep coming from the ETM. why?
I have code PO600 and a warning light: brake failure... abs light is on. also oil (pressure?) light is on on dash. I used to have PO863 and a P2177. those went away..dont know what that means. :?
any help appreciated.

I am just experiencing the same thing on my 2001 S60. I start up RMP into 1500 range then reves up to 2500 then drops down to 1500 again and back up to 2500. I just cleaned my ETM and this started to happen. I also noticed when breaking say at a stop light my RPM will drop to almost 1000 then back up to 1500 like an up shift and then when I come to a complete stop I'll throw it into neutral or park and the RPM will be stady at 1000. I'm dreading the thought of having to replace the ETM but I might not have a choice. Any thoughts?

Thanks Peter

Luthier, I know you can buy just the throttle position sensor for like a little over a $100 on ebay new. I dont know what success people have had doing that. you can check out Xemodex and they have a diagnostic flow chart. there is also a forum completely dedicated to this. hope that helps,

UPDATE: I'm not sure if ETM problems create a no start condition (my problem now) or start and then stall always the same. anyone who knows is welcome to comment.
