I bought a used 2002 xc70, knowing that it had some brake issues. The codes for the ABS indicate that it has a faulty module as well as the left front sensor. I've ordered a rebuilt module (my mechanic has). In the meantime, he has had to replace the bushings on both sides in the front. It now doesn't pull when braking. The new problem now is that the drive shaft is shot (in the center). He'll have to replace it. Also needs replacing a blown strut. He thinks all of this will be around $2000-$2500. (I already paid for the bushings). I got a very good deal on the car itself, and it has a brand new exhaust system plus extra wheels and snow tires. I hope this influx of dollars will hold it for awhile. It has 147,000 mi. on it.
Does this sound about right, price-wise?

I'm trying to understand what goes in that 2.5k - is that the one strut and drive shaft? Is this a 4x4? What is exactly wrong with the driveshaft?
