Greetings . Does anybody have any experience or opinions about Detroit Axle.? I am asking because I'm looking for reasonable priced bearing assemblys for my car after dropping major dollars on my daughters braces.

I don't know Detroit Axle but people in this forum have recommended them before for steering racks.
Looks like their bearings are $90 each. I don't know what brand they are, you could call and ask. Basically you want it to be made by FAG, that bearing also sells under the Timken name. You can get a known OEM bearing for about the same price from various sources:
A lot of people have bought genuine Volvo bearings from this supplier ($95 each) with no issues: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Volvo-850-S70-V ... 5411fa5f17
Or search for TIMKEN HA594181, the cheapest I could find that was $108 at Rockauto.com or an Amazon. The Timken (or Detroit Axle) will not come with new bolts, the Volvo will.
Also for the record, there is no need to replace both bearings at the same time if only one of them is failing.
