Hi
I am an absolute newbie in this forum. Hope you guys can help me out!!
I bought a beautiful 2007 s60 D5 in the rare Inscription edition and after 2000km the engine starts making knocking sound every time after prox. 20km of driving. I made an video of it..
I dont know if its normal for an D5 engine or something went wrong.
I am thankful for any help.

Oil level good? Is the knock coming from top or bottom of engine? Can you use a piece of hose or rod to better locate noise?

Change it again. It may thin, this engine taps on thin oil.dacson wrote:No engine and oil pressure light or whatsoever. Oil changed 3500km ago. I used 0W30 from liqui moly.

Thats what i was suspecting! There was no tapping noise before the oil change.vtl wrote:Change it again. It may thin, this engine taps on thin oil.dacson wrote:No engine and oil pressure light or whatsoever. Oil changed 3500km ago. I used 0W30 from liqui moly.
I used 0w30 from liqui moly though, volvo recommended 0w30 from castrol.

Update: So i took the time to make a trip to the volvo dealer. After 30min of checking and listening to the engine i was told by the mechanic its an absolutelly normal for the d5 to sound a little hard like this. We even compared the sound to another v70 with d5 185ps and it was the same sound.
So it was a false alarm
. Thx u all for ur suggestions
