Perfect crank alignment for volvo s70

Post by VolvoS70BASE »

Does any buddy have a clear picture highlighted of the crank wheel linedup perfectly someone keeps referring to bump on pully wheel aligned to block pointer how does the bump sit in valley I guess the easiest way is someone to highlight the picture of where bump should be in relation to notch on block

I don't really understand what you're asking for. What repair work are you doing, did you take off the crank pulley and need to put it back on, or just trying to time the engine, or something else?

Maybe post a picture of what you are dealing with, with highlighting to explain the question, etc.

He's asking for the pic of the crank including the harmonic balancer which also has a bump marking (the mark is not on the balancer but just forward of it on the leading edge of the crank pulley) that helps line up timing in a rough sort of way.

Obviously the small notches help with the finite adjustment and final check of timing.

The harmonic balancer's position is locating dowel at 12 o clock so the bump ends up lining with the oil pump mark. Once this is lined up it makes it easier to find the small notches.

If he needs more than what Eric posted, he really needs a tow truck.

Perhaps the guy has bad eyesight or the crank pulley is rusty due to laying about which is causing the marks to be obscured

Perhaps he doesn't have a digital camera.

Asking for more info is always welcone here.
