Yea, a site for people who want to fix their Volvos. "Vulvas?! hahaha"... no, Volvos. Haven't heard that one in at least a week.

After a bit of explanation they get it. The site makes revenue from the advertisers. Ohhhh.

It's a niche job, for sure. I hand out MVS stickers almost every day. I put them on parked Volvos, under the wiper.

Anyway, enough of my talk, I want to say thanks for being here, thanks for choosing MVS Forums. Really.

Great site Matt, it takes a lot of dedication to stay interested in something for so long. This site has helped a lot of us, I am new to owning a Volvo and already feel comfortable with working on them in a few short months.
I thought this was a side hobby, but if you can do it as a full time job you are lucky!

I want to say thanks to you for being here also. This is a wonderful site, a wealth of experience, and so many experts willing to freely share their (hard earned) knowledge and experience. The detailed write-ups are amazing. It was this site that gave me the confidence I needed to dive back in to DIY after years away. I knew I could find what I needed here to either complete the job, or, in some cases, know that it was probably over my head. Thank you for dedicating the time and energy required to make this site truly great and keeping it among the best.

Hey Matt!

Thank you. Seriously. This site and the good people on it have kept me coming back and back to Volvo. To those reading this: I live in Denver and have the honor of knowing Matt. He is a great guy with a sincere heart and his dedication to this site is incredible. Any time I drive past his coffee shop his 850 is out front and I know Matt is inside working his butt off on this site. Dropping in to have a coffee with Matt is one of my favorite things to do on a whim. MVS for the win.

MVS was one of the biggest sources of information and confidence building I had when deciding on doing my PCV system. My indie Volvo garage wanted $600+ for "servicing" it. (After working on it for 4 days myself, can't say I blame them) I didn't have $600, however, so I got the parts myself and went for it. With the guidance of this site, and especially Robert's (rspi) awesome PCV replacement video, I did it myself for just the OEM parts cost! Even had the guts to do a little mod thanks to cn90 (https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums ... hp?t=53448).t

I hope that others will realize how much the guidance on this site saves them (in time and money), and not be afraid to throw a little back to MVS whenever it saves them some cash on a project like it did me.

Thanks to you Matthew, and to everyone who contributes their time and knowledge to help fledgling mechanics like myself to take proper care of their Volvos.

Matthew,
I showed up as a complete Volvo "newb" when my friend gave me a complete wreck of a 1993 850.

I had been wrenching since consciousness though no knowledge of these cars.

After learning some of the simple, and beautiful design intricacies, I became hooked.

Noting the fact that most of these parts are used in other European quality brands, I was at a loss to understand the depreciation in resale?

Bottom line. What a genuine format to inquire and share knowledge. I never had intended to be a Volvo fan, but am a happy aficionado at this point. I have met some folks over the past few years that may have a similar experience.
