2000 s70 NA manual transmission acceleration

Thinking of checking out a local 2000 S70 with a five speed manual transmission as a winter car. Just curious if anyone here has an idea of just how slow this car would be? Couldn't find any info on the internet for 0-60 times for the N/A models.

i think it's around nine seconds to sixty? NA manual performance is Acceptable. it'll keep up with traffic just fine, even if it won't win any races.

My 2000 NA 5 speed auto revs so well and literally hammers to redline if I choose to do so. It's more the sound of the engine I enjoy than the outright performance. The headers were changed on 2000MY from 4 into 1 to a 4 to 2 to 1 design with no flex join that changes exhaust tone radically from previous NA cars.

A manual will be enjoyable to drive.

More then 9 seconds, maybe 10
0 to 40 is fine and for driving around town these are fine, after 40 it slows down
They suffer at high speeds but, as said, for "normal" day to day driving, they're fine, even can be fun to a point as long as you don't expect it to go fast at higher speeds!

Thanks. I am about to park my 2004 C70 T5 for the winter and am looking for a suitable replacement for the winter months. The C70 is great for getting on and off the highway (much faster than my 2002 V70 T5 for some reason). I am not someone who is into performance for the sake of racing but I want to be able to merge onto the freeway without getting killed.

The 5-speed NA's are roughly on par with a modern midsized 4-cyl car (Camry, Accord, what have you). It's enough to get you up to speed without an issue and not much more.

I think they're good fun to drive, and no annoying turbo lag to wait around on.

I drive a '98 V70 non-turbo 5 spd. manual as my daily driver and have never had trouble, or felt unsafe merging onto a highway, and the on ramps in Jersey can be very short.

I have a 1994 850 sedan with a 5 speed and I have to say it is a blast to drive. I prefer it to my 98 S70 T5 manual. You can give it a little boost by swapping out the throttle plate for a 960 version and advance the intake and exhaust cam 2 degrees. You may have electronic throttle, not familiar with the 2000, but nonetheless you will enjoy the car.

When my 850 5 speed isn't an 840 like it is now (100 PSI compression on #1) the car is actually quicker off the line than my Platinum - for a hundred feet or so.

Pretty certain the 2000 has the dreaded ETM
