2000 S70 GLT SE - Trade in with 04 S80 2.9?

Post by neworleans »

Hello all,

The person that sold me my S70 is selling his 04 S80 2.9 with 85K. He is the first owner. Selling the car for 4500. My 2000 S70 GLT SE had 105K on it and in excellent condition, changed the timing belt at 95 and done all the other services.

The S80 is in very good condition also.

I am planning to get the S80 and sell the S70, would that be a good thing?
Thanks for any advise in advance.

S80's are nice cars, but I wouldn't swap a S70 for a S80. When I worked at a dealer a few years ago, I looked at an S80 that was traded in, but all the mechanics warned me away from the S80's especially the 6 cylinder versions. They said they have a head gasket failure problem. I'm sure many folks out there who own S80's may disagree, but I'll stick to my 5 cylinder Volvos until they get the new 4 cylinder versions out for a few years!

Good luck which ever way you go!

Neil.

Thank you guys.
It is 2.9, not the turbo model. Very well taken care of. If it was the turbo model I wouldn't do this but still wanted to get you guys opinion.

I would love a T6!

A friend had it back in 2000 and it was a miracle car...twin turbo 272hp.
