98 Volvo v70xc Fuel Pump Wires

Post by fdelponte »

I'm on the process of replacing the fuel pump in my 98 v70xc. I opted for the cut method and noticed that most posts on the subject recommend cutting the old wires and splicing them to the new fuel pump assembly. Is it possible to use the old wire to snake the new one to the connection point in the cargo area?

On mine the harness was too tight so I just cut it. For the splice I used heat shrink tubing over a soldered connection.

That's what I was thinking... Better safe than sorry... I'm cutting and splicing. Thanks Lee.
