Hello, About to repaint the front and rear bumper covers, I understand you have to use plastic bumper paint.
Anyone have experience or recommend a particular brand ?
Heard about SEM but they dont seem to have Volvo colors ?

If Black or White color, then it is easy, any other color is a gamble (ask local shop to blend the color for you).
I have Black car, so I bought standard paint can (gloss fits better than matte, although I have used both).
I think I bought Duplicolor (? spelling) brand.
The key thing is prep work:
- Sand
- Fill any defect with Bondo.
- Masking Tape any area you don't want to paint (lift the hood upward etc.).
- Spray evenly.
- Best is to do this with temp > 10C
- Do this inside a garage, you don't want the wind to blow crap on your paint work.

Don't forget you need a paint that has flex additive or one tap and it will blow right off
Mod note. Jim passed away in early 2022, his contributions to this forum are immortal, and he is missed. RIP

Use an adhesion promoter too as I had trouble where the filler caused the primer to pull off in a sheet- this was after I asked the paint guy at Napa if I needed it, worst thing was I had the stuff just didn't use it I also used some SEM texture at the bottom of the front bumper to cover up all the scrapes and divots that had developed over time

Be careful with white. Do some test pieces beforehand. An ill-matched white will look worse than a chipped-up bumper, IMO, and white is not just white.
I've used paintscratch.com to get paint that's mixed to the original factory color, and it's a pretty close match. Autozone &c also carry matching paints for some makes and colors, which are okay, but I haven't seen any for Volvo.
