Volvo 850 Radio Antenna Malfunction

Post by Baptiste1106 »

My radio antenna just started to malfunction. It goes up and down as I am driving. What could be the cause of this? What should I check ?

I installed an antenna switch in my 850... there is a blue/white wire that, when powered, raises the antenna.

Sounds like there is some faulty wiring somewhere, applying power to the antenna/radio when it shouldn't...

not the most informative post, I know, but hopefully it gives you something to think about!

I wanted to reply to the original inquiry.

Short Edit: Here is an e-bay link to one I may grab for the T-5R Sedan. I have a power unit from the junkyard to rebuild.
My T-5R was not optioned with the power mast, which I believe was by design.

This might be what you can use.

I had taken some shots with the mast up. The radio works much better that way as well.
